Enjoy the learning "Jamini Roy Special - Yashoda and Kanha" form using traditional motifs and techniques with native artist Mr. Samir Chitrakar, refers to a painting style inspired by the renowned Indian modernist artist Jamini Roy. Known for his folk-inspired aesthetic, bold lines, and simplified forms, Roy’s work often depicted scenes from Indian mythology and rural life.
This special depiction of Yashoda and Kanha (Lord Krishna as a child) would typically showcase their tender relationship, with earthy tones, flat colors, and a strong emphasis on form over intricate details. Roy's style is celebrated for its modern reinterpretation of traditional Bengali folk art, especially the Kalighat Pat.
Jamini Roy (1887-1972) was one of the most important artists of the modern period in India. He was honored with the Padma Bhushan in 1955. He is father of modern kalighat painting and an expressionist during the freedom struggle of India, his works are considered pioneers and a boost for the community of Patua.
