Warli Workshops July 2021

Warli , a tribal art from Maharaashtra, is simple yet complex. Basic geometric shapes are used to make an intricate set of motifs that are then combined to illustrate a day-in-the-life scenario. This course focuses on the basic techniques and motifs of Warli art - birds, trees, animals, humans, huts, daily objects and musical instruments.
Warli masterclass is where Catterfly art curators and artists bring together diverse themes for our online learners. This July, artist Sanjay Sangle who lives in Dahanu village in Palghar will help you learn an array of themes - from Puri rath yatra to Eid. Learn from him and help support the economic and local empowerment of the region.

About Artist:

Shri Sanjay Subhash Sangle or Sanjay Bhau(Bhau in Marathi being the Brother) as all his students lovingly call him is a veteran Warli Artist. He has been practicing the art for 26 years now. A prolific teacher, great human and a dedicated Warli Artist. Throughout his journey of creating the art he has created Warli Magic on paper, canvas, cloth, apparels & as mural in Farmhouses.
