About the workshop
Contemporary art refers to art created in the second half of the 20th century and the 21st century, encompassing painting, sculpture, photography, installation, performance, and video art. It includes over fifty art forms that emerged after World War II, with New York City replacing Paris as the art world's hub. Contemporary art often blends influences from Modernism, like Impressionism and Cubism, or diverges entirely through Post-Modernism, disconnecting from past movements. Understanding it involves studying various "isms" from the last six decades, with formal recognition by the art world being a key factor.
Japanese Garden landscape: Traditional Japanese gardens are famous the world over. These gardens highlight the beauty of nature, avoiding artificial, man-made components wherever possible.
The crossing over the bridge symbolizes the journey between the mortal world into the afterlife, and the cleansing of one's worldly burdens that follow. Through this journey, the individual experiences a symbolic sense of purity, inner peace and a unity with nature.
