Holy Cow Near Darwar in Pichwai: Cows are an important part of Hindu mythology and play a significant role in the story of Krishna. In the Pichwai painting tradition as well, cows play an important role as lord Krishna was a cowherd in the formative years of his life, Pichwai in particular focuses on the events in Shri Krishna’s life as a seven-year-old. In Nathdwara, people generally worship cows in gratitude for all that they provide, by bathing and decorating them and performing rituals for them. Cow is associated with Aditi, which means the mother of all Gods. The cow is also considered a representative of divine and natural beneficence. It is also known for wealth, strength, and abundance

• Colors: Crimson Red, White, Black, Cadmium Yellow, Permanent Orange, Sap Green, Yellow ochre, Prussian blue, Cobalt blue, Metallic Golden, Burnt Sienna
• Brushes (000, 00, 0, 1 2 4 8 10 12 14 16 18 number)

(Basic sketch would be provided as pre-work for tracing/sketching)

About the Master Artist

Mr. Rajnish Nimbark ji is a State Award-winning artist from Jaipur, Rajasthan in India. He comes from a family of artists who have practiced traditional Pichwai painting for generations.
