About the Art & the workshop
Warli Art uses basic geometric shapes to make complex motifs, which are then combined together to illustrate a day in the life scenario. This course focuses on all basic techniques, and motifs of Warli art - human, animals, houses, vegetation, birds, trees, nature, daily objects, musical instruments etc.
This Warli artwork beautifully narrates the journey of life, showing the harmony between nature, community, and changing times. At the center, the circular form represents the eternal cycle of life, where humans, animals, birds, and trees coexist in rhythm with nature. The dancing figures symbolize celebration, unity, and collective joy, which are core values of tribal life.
Surrounding scenes introduce elements of Urban modern life—trains, boats, airplanes, buildings—showing progress, travel, and urban influence. By blending traditional village rituals with symbols of development, the painting conveys how tribal culture adapts while staying rooted in its traditions.
In this we will learn artwork based on the theme of all types of travels. These paintings have such an intense effect that they remain with us our entire lives. This painting is the fusion of modern and traditional Warli Art.
