Sacred Form of Ardhanarishwara: This Kerala mural painting represents Ardhanarishwara, the divine combined form of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Ardhanarishwara symbolizes the unity of masculine and feminine energies in the universe. In the painting, one side shows the features of Lord Shiva, while the other side reflects the grace and beauty of Goddess Parvati. The trishul, snake, and tiger skin represent Shiva’s power and spiritual strength. The softer ornaments, gentle hand gestures, and elegant details symbolize the feminine energy of Parvati. The lotus flowers and decorative background enhance the spiritual and artistic beauty of the mural. Painted in the traditional Kerala mural style, this artwork beautifully expresses balance, harmony, creation, and divine unity.

About the Master Artist
Mr. Saju. M.P. comes from a lineage of Kerala Mural artists. His work can be seen in the temples (Guruvayoor) and churches of Kerala. He is also actively involved in the restoration work of Kerala Murals to preserve this heritage art.
