About the workshop

Create a beautiful "Hanuman Chalisa: A Beautiful Blend of Devotion and Folk Art:" in Madhubani painting. Learn from our native master artist, Ms. Hema Devi, a national award-winning artist from Bihar. She will teach the techniques and motifs of the art form and help you create a beautiful painting characterized by its bold colours and intricate designs.

Madhubani Painting - Madhubani painting, originating from Bihar, India, is a traditional folk art known for its vibrant colors and intricate patterns. Artists use natural dyes and depict Hindu mythology, nature, and daily life scenes. The paintings often feature bold outlines and geometric shapes, creating a unique and visually striking style. Madhubani art has gained international recognition for its cultural richness and storytelling through vivid visuals.

Hanuman Chalisa: A Beautiful Blend of Devotion and Folk Art. This Madhubani painting beautifully shows the Hanuman Chalisa, a famous Hindu prayer dedicated to Lord Hanuman. In the center of the painting, Lord Hanuman is shown in a powerful and peaceful pose, showing his strength and devotion. Around him are forty small pictures, and each picture tells the story of one verse of the Hanuman Chalisa. The painting follows the traditional Mithila art style, using bright colors, simple shapes, and double borders. Every panel explains Hanuman’s bravery, kindness, and devotion through folk-style drawings. The verses are written in Devanagari script below the pictures, helping viewers connect the words with the images. Beyond its visual splendor, the painting serves as a cultural and spiritual bridge, preserving centuries of devotional heritage through the hands of skilled artisans. The balanced and symmetrical layout makes the painting serene and visually pleasing.
