About the workshop
Create a beautiful "Harmony Between Humans and Nature " in Madhubani painting. Learn from our native master artist, Ms. Hema Devi, a national award-winning artist from Bihar. She will teach the techniques and motifs of the art form and help you create a beautiful painting characterized by its bold colours and intricate designs.
Madhubani Painting - Madhubani painting, originating from Bihar, India, is a traditional folk art known for its vibrant colors and intricate patterns. Artists use natural dyes and depict Hindu mythology, nature, and daily life scenes. The paintings often feature bold outlines and geometric shapes, creating a unique and visually striking style. Madhubani art has gained international recognition for its cultural richness and storytelling through vivid visuals.
Harmony Between Humans and Nature: This Madhubani painting beautifully portrays a scene from traditional rural life, centered around the sacred cow and everyday village activities. Hema ji will use intricate circular patterns and fine line work to decorate the cow, tree, and human figures in the classic Mithila style. The woman milking the cow symbolizes care, nourishment, and the close bond between humans and animals in Indian culture. Another figure carrying pots on the head reflects the daily responsibilities and graceful lifestyle of village women. The large tree spreading across the upper part of the painting represents protection, fertility, and harmony with nature. The limited use of earthy colors like black, red, orange, and white gives the artwork a traditional and balanced folk-art appearance. This painting celebrates simplicity, cultural traditions, and the peaceful rhythm of rural life through the rich visual language of Madhubani art.
