About the workshop

Create a beautiful "Peacock: Symbolism of Life and Prosperity" in Madhubani painting. Learn from our native master artist, Ms. Hema Devi, a national award-winning artist from Bihar. She will teach the techniques and motifs of the art form and help you create a beautiful painting characterized by its bold colours and intricate designs.

Madhubani Painting - Madhubani painting, originating from Bihar, India, is a traditional folk art known for its vibrant colors and intricate patterns. Artists use natural dyes and depict Hindu mythology, nature, and daily life scenes. The paintings often feature bold outlines and geometric shapes, creating a unique and visually striking style. Madhubani art has gained international recognition for its cultural richness and storytelling through vivid visuals.

"Peacock: Symbolism of Life and Prosperity": This Madhubani painting beautifully highlights the peacock, a bird that symbolizes beauty, pride, prosperity, and spirituality in Indian culture. The artist has decorated the peacock with intricate patterns, fine line work, and vibrant colors that are characteristic of traditional Mithila art. The large flowing feathers filled with small bird motifs create a rich and imaginative composition inspired by nature. In Indian tradition, the peacock is considered sacred and is often associated with love, purity, and divine protection. The detailed dotted textures and decorative border enhance the elegance and visual harmony of the artwork. Soft shades of blue, green, orange, pink, and black give the painting a balanced and graceful folk-art appearance. Overall, this painting celebrates the magnificence of the peacock and reflects the deep connection between nature, symbolism, and artistic tradition in Madhubani painting.
