My love for Indian art and culture increased after settling down in South India. I really fell in love with the Indian temple architecture when I visited Belur and Helibidu of Karnataka. Then I started visiting different temples , learning the history behind it , tried to understand different art forms of India. But I was not satisfied as I wanted to do and learn more in this field.
Here comes Catterfly as my savior. Team Catterfly is doing wonderful work in this field. They are picking up the best award winning native artists of our country and organizing classes, exhibitions to promote them in difficult times. I have joined Catterfly on last December and the journey is still going on.
My first class was with the National award winner Smt. Hema Devi and it was a great experience. Apart from being an excellent teacher she is a very down to earth , humble person. She shares all tricks and tips of Madhubani Kachni painting which usually other artists don't. I remember once she told they dip the drawing paper into cow-dung water to get ivory ,pest control and long lasting effect. The same thing can be done with tea liquor. I have tried it and yes, it works really good. I have tried to follow her instructions to the core and the result is in front of you.
Again , a big thank you to team Catterfly, because of you we are able to learn these masterpieces from home , keep on doing good work. Thank you.
