It has been 2 weeks since I'm a part of your creative group. I am thoroughly enjoying myself submerged in the various art forms. I had a very strong inclination towards Pattachitra but being exposed to all the art forms, Madhubani is my favourite now.
Earlier it was like looking at a picture and drawing or colouring it but now I have a better understanding of the colouring concept & background of each art form. This is only possible because I am learning from a professional and experienced artist. It is helping me understand Indian folk art better and keeping me occupied positively. My family & friends are all very happy and amazed with the various paintings I have completed so far.
I intend to learn in-depth about these art forms like designing a course of each art form wherein the artist starts from basic, intermediate, and advance of every art. Especially in Pattachitra - the facial features, hand postures not easy to do it in a day. It needs a lot of practice, borders, human figures, animals, different kinds of trees, etc. I would like to be able to create my own design as well - and if I understand the art form well I'm sure I should be able to do it in some time!
