This morning when I thought about my Weekdays, it overwhelmed me. This week we did a complex Peacock motif in Kachni Style of Madhubani painting with Hema Devi ji. Kachni means line art. In the Kachni style, elaborate line paintings are made. The images are filled with closely drawn parallel lines or small dots. The thickness of the lines depends on the design. Peacock is a symbol of love and prosperity in Madhubani painting. We started on Monday. First she taught us to draw border, as we know that border has a great significance in Madhubani painting. It highlights the main motif more beautifully. After creating the border Hema ji drew the outline of the main motif that is Peacock. Till the session ended that day we drawn one peacock’s out line.
Next day we started to fill the peacock with kachni. It was an amazing experience, when I saw this motif I thought that I was never able to draw this. But the way Hema ji taught it becomes very easy. After end of the second day’ session we drawn the feathers of the first peacock.
On third day we started with the body of peacock, after filling it we drawn the second peacock and fill it. During the session Hema ji taught many interesting things which helped everyone to improvise their painting. Each and every participants liked the way of teaching of Hema Devi Ji.
On fourth day we completed the motif with black and then it’s time to add some red in this painting. After adding red in it, the beauty of the painting increased.
At the end of the session every participants told only one thing that after looking this motif they thought they face difficulty to create it, but the way Hema ji taught it became so easy. It was a great learning experience.
Some of the creation of our participants who made the session more alive:))
